I don't know why the economy is so bad. According to these help wanted ads, you can make $300 a day blogging and $270 a day just processing orders for Dish Network. With opportunities like those, we should ALL be rich.
The job search has gotten so discouraging that I even stopped writing about it. We have been getting by on my wife’s disability and whatever meager amount of money I can bring in doing odd jobs. It has gotten so bad that when I hear about a company that is “hiring,” I debate whether or not it’s worth the gasoline to go apply. Note I put the word hiring in quotes. It has been my general finding that they are not, in fact, hiring. They are collecting applications for when they ARE hiring. This is especially prevalent in the air conditioning business. It’s been a long cold winter in Florida, and the AC companies just haven’t been busy. They are, however, looking towards summer. I have been told that this summer I will have no problem getting a job. The problem is, I need one NOW.
If I could just come up with a full time, minimum wage job, we could make ends meet. Just barely, but we could make ends meet. It would be a no frills lifestyle. Now here is the problem. Who is going to hire me for a menial minimum wage job if I tell them the truth about my work history? They know that if I get an offer for an AC job at 2 to 3 times the money, I’ll be gone in a heartbeat. So just how much do I lie? I would like to be able to tell them I just moved here after waking up from a 20 year coma, but that wouldn’t fly. I’ve lived here all my life and sooner or later I would run into someone that knows me. LOL
I have even resorted to looking up “work at home” opportunities. As a past “attempted” Amway distributor, I am leery of all the “opportunities.” I have researched so many such opportunities. Many want huge upfront registration fees, and often, don’t even have a product. The product is the system. Basically, you are supposed to get rich by telling other people how to get rich.
But… I may have found something. A friend of mine told me about a company that she got involved with. It is not multilevel marketing, it doesn’t involve parties, taking orders, stocking and distributing merchandise, or a huge upfront investment. She told me that she started in November and got her first check in December; it was a whopping $10. But fast forward to February and she brought in close to $2000. From $10 to $2000 in 3 months sounds very interesting, especially since she DIDN’T say she did it working 4 to 5 hours a week like so many of the scams out there. My friend told me that she put in almost 40 hours per week, posting to message boards and forums, passing out business cards, and distributing flyers. I’m still doing research but it sounds good so far. More news on this opportunity as it comes in.
